When the pandemic started, I continued the military theme, but one day I put a gas mask on the soldier.   I became obsessed with researching old military gasmasks.

I dug out all my old Army handbooks, and tomes I've had for years on both World Wars. The pandemic gave me the time to pour over materials. I drew them, changed them, made them even more sinister than they actually were.

Viewers have commented that they are frightening,  but not to me. It comforts me that masks have saved lives in the past, and will again into the future.
